Story: (n) a message that tells the particulars of an act or occurrence or course of events.

This was a sweet little session, as most of the shoot was done at their home. It was enjoyable and meaningful for reasons that struck me and gave me a lump in my throat as I clicked my shutter. We all have a story, of who we are and what we may be. A past, a current situation, and a hope for the future. But, sadly, not everyone's story has the opportunity to begin in the best of circumstances, which often can cause a painful journey. And as I was looking through my viewfinder at these 2 children who are so deeply loved, all I could think of is how they are so blessed to be where they are today, how their story is unfolding in a beautiful, joyous way. All because two people oceans away from them felt a pull in their heart to take these two as their own, and love them as only a mother and father can love. Two people who cared enough to change the story for Brendan and Elisa. I'm so looking forward to watching these children grow, to see what life will hold out for them. Thank you for letting me into your world, Cathryn. It was a happy place to be.

See how carefree they are? You don't have to see faces to know the lightheartedness these two are feeling:

Both of the children played the violin for me. Played. Not squawked and squeaked and hurt my ears. They played. And they liked it!

Yes, I have a thing for eyelashes. But when they look like these, can you blame me? :)

"Now is the accepted time, not tomorrow, not some more convenient season.
It is today that our best work can be done and not some future day or future year.
It is today that we fit ourselves for the greater usefulness of tomorrow.
Today is the seed time, now are the hours of work, and tomorrow comes the harvest and the playtime."
