Friend Session / *See Note* at bottom of post

(I've been in a posting overload, so be sure to check out other sessions that have been put up recently.)

'Friend' sessions are becoming popular around here; maybe the beautiful weather and soft breezes have a part in that?

I enjoyed a spectacularly warm evening documenting the friendship between Andrea and Beth. We had plenty of laughter, little serious snippets of conversation, and just an all-around nice hour or so together. It's nice for me to get to know people a little better through the opportunity that photography brings, and I appreciated that the other night.

Of course, I have to just say again how evening light is my absolute favorite. It changes so quickly, and produces different views within minutes. It makes for soft, ethereal images that absolutely thrill me. (Just ask Andrea & Beth. I kept sighing over the light, right, girls?)

Thanks to both of you for being so easy-going and relaxed- you did a beautiful job!

'So very hard for me to pick a favorite from each session, but I think this is it from that evening:

"Never shall I forget the days I spent with you. Continue to be my friend, as you will always find me yours."

-Ludwig van Beethoven, composer, pianist
1712-1773

*Note* -- I am leaving tomorrow for Illinois to see my sister and cousins for a number of days. Nora and I are thrilled to be taking a Mom/Daughter trip, which for me is a "working vacation." I had intended to announce on the blog that I was offering photography sessions while I was in Central IL, but between my sister's acquaintances and friends, and my cousins' connections, I'm completely booked. So there may be some 'blog silence' while I'm working away on Western plains, enjoying all that Central IL has to offer... including spotty Internet service, from what I hear. ;) I'm looking forward to the trip, as it's full of Senior Sessions, some wedding work, and family shoots. It will be a flurry of activity, so wish me well keeping it all straight! Feel free to continue to email; response time will be slower, though.

I have to give a shout out to my '3 boys' who are staying home- they are all happy for Nora and I, and Paul is the best husband ever. Ever. (And he's going to have my head for putting that up here!) He supports me, and is so happy that I get to go see my sister, and Nora gets to visit with her only girl cousin in the Ryan family. Plus, he loves me, despite all my quirks!

'Hope to be back with some unique images for everyone to see soon!

Betsy! Beautiful work!!! Enjoy your trip (I admit, I'm somewhat envious...can I come too!?)

You deserve a break from the mundane and don't you feel the slightest bit bad for doing so! Olivia and I take a trip to Chicago every May together (except this year because of someones wedding- the gall lol!). Anyway - it's special time with my daughter, that I think all moms with daughters should get!

Be well! Looking forward to upcoming art from you!

  4. Yeah, Paul's pretty great but I think my husband is the best ever. :) Have FUN! Give the Fehrs a big kiss from Aunt Kara. Although I'm not sure Dan really wants kiss from me but you can tell him I said hi! :)

Excellent work, Betsy!! One of the girls has gorgeous blue eyes and white smile. Wish she had chosen more colors to bring out those attributes. The other has beautiful skin color and eyes that melt your heart. They both look so carefree and happy. Love the contrast of the lush green grass and brilliant blue of the sky.

Have a wonderful trip. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
