Ease: (n) freedom from concern, anxiety, or solicitude; a quiet state of mind

'Not a lot of words for this one, except to remark on the ease and quiet cherishing of Toby and Holly toward each other. Since we did all of the formal portraits before the wedding, they had 45 minutes right after the ceremony for just the two of them. (Well, and me.) It gave them time to soak in the gravity and beauty of just being married, and cherish the moments before the reception. We had to move quickly, but I hardly had to direct them at all-- they were comfortable and I pretty much just had to follow them and document their first moments as husband and wife. And as I photographed them, all I could think was, "This is such a privilege."

Holly and Toby, thank you for trusting me to capture these memories for you. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you both. And I love you enough to not be envious of your choice of countries for your honeymoon! Enjoy seeing those '40 shades of Green' in County Wicklow! :)

I don't want to post too many of the formal images, because it's nice to save them for just the family. But here are a few to tide them over:

Brothers. (and brother-in-law.) Gotta' love 'em.

You aren't seeing double on this next one.

Well, actually, you kind of are.

Toby's twin brother Todd was his best man. And since I'm a mother of twins, there's something pretty poignant for me in this image. Before the reception meal, Todd had a prayer asking a blessing on Holly and Toby's marriage. Suffice it to say this mom of twins had a lump in her throat.

Holly and her bridesmaid and sister, Kelly- right after Kelly arrived for portraits. I like this real moment:

Toby's siblings:

My sister Kara did the flowers. Pretty, no? (Had to stick that in here, Kee! :)

Holly had just two requests for specific portrait poses. This next image was one of them. Nice, no?
